Squirrel Buster Call by PrimosSquirrel Buster Call by Primos

  • Squirrel Bark
  • Squirrel Chatter
  • Squirrel Distress Call

At the risk of sounding like Dr Doolittle I really can talk with those pesky Varmint !

The Squirrel Buster Call by Primos allows you to mimic 4 or more calls from the squirrel, I'd checked out several videos and found that in the opinion of lots of folk the call actually was successful and worked better than expected.

It can be easily operated with one hand or you can make other types of distress call by inserting a finger into the neck of the call to aide different ranges and tones of distress, its absolutely an asset where there's a reintroduction of red squirrel or an area of red squirrel conservation or if there are problem areas where grey squirrel are causing damage to flora and fauna or there's evidence of squirrel pox.

Sadly The Squirrel Pox Virus is usually fatal to red squirrels. Grey squirrels are carriers of the infection and can spread the disease to red squirrels. Greys have developed immunity to the disease having been exposed to the virus for many years.
In sharp contrast, the mortality rate for untreated infected red squirrels in the wild appears to be 100%, most dying within 15 days of being infected. If caught early enough a vet may be able to treat the squirrel but success is rare.

Grey Squirrels and Our Forests

Grey squirrels cause damage to trees such as beech, oak and chestnut. They strip bark at the base of trees which causes them to weaken and eventually to die.

Grey squirrels also:

  • Raid birds’ nests to prey on eggs and fledglings
  • Damage orchards and gardens
  • Wreak havoc on historic and ancient woodlands.
